Behind the Scenes at Jems Store: Custom Cerakote for a Bow and Arrow

Today at Jems Store, the shop is buzzing with creativity and craftsmanship as we take on a unique Cerakote project that’s got everyone excited — a custom camo design for a bow and arrow set.

Cerakote isn’t just a coating; it’s a statement. Known for its durability, resistance to wear and corrosion, and endless customization possibilities, it’s the perfect way to transform everyday gear into personalized, high-performance equipment. And when it comes to outdoor sports like archery and hunting, form and function matter.

This particular project is all about stealth and style. We’re working on a full camouflage design that blends natural tones and textures — think forest greens, bark browns, and shadowy grays — to help the arrow disappear in the wild while looking absolutely fierce up close.

The Process
We start by carefully prepping both the bow and the arrow. Every surface has to be meticulously cleaned and blasted to ensure the Cerakote adheres perfectly. Then comes the fun part — layering the camo pattern using a combination of stencils, airbrushing, and good old-fashioned attention to detail.

Each piece is baked to cure the coating, locking in the design and ensuring it can stand up to the rigors of the field. The end result? A bow and arrow that doesn’t just perform — it stands out by blending in.
